Psalm 3 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. I cried aloud to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬-‭4‬ ‭‭– We learn from the start of the psalm that this was looking back at the emotions and thoughts David was experiencing during the time of his struggles with Absalom. Absalom, David’s own son, was creating a rebellion against his father to steal the kingdom, and it was working. David was on the run and it truly seemed like the number of his enemies were growing too rapidly for even God to be able to save him. It appeared as if there was no hope, and even his enemies said in the verse prior that God couldn’t even bring salvation for David from such a horrible situation. But…the Lord isn’t limited to the words of our enemies. David knew that while others may say God couldn’t save, that God would be a shield of protection, a hearer of his cries, and an answerer to his need of help. We too may find ourselves in such a deep struggle. So deep that we and others are convinced no one could get us out, not even God. Let us though never limit the Lord like this. You will never find yourself in a too dark of a place or too deep of a hole for God to be able to rescue you. No amount of enemies can stop Him and no attack will crumble His shield. Truly blessed are those who trust in Him. Could you today say you are truly blessed because you trust in the Lord? I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2958

Question To Ponder: How might the enemy seek to convince us that we are too far gone for God to help?
