Proverbs 15 – Pastor Mac Daily DEVO

Without counsel plans fail, but with many advisers they succeed. Proverbs 15:22 – In the leadership world, I’ve heard this quote spoken, “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.” For we learn even from this proverb we alone can make plans. We are able to come up with grand ideas all by ourselves, but what we see is the result of bringing no one else along for the journey. Personal experience has shown me plans made alone often have issues that could have been avoided if other eyes other than just my own looked at the plans. I’ve also been humbled and seen how others can truly bring things to the plans I never could have or would have never even thought to bring. Listen then to the wisdom of this proverb, bring other people into your planning. Avoid avoidable mistakes, accomplish greater things than your plans could come up with alone, and go further than you could take yourself. Realize the enemy loves as well to work on us in isolation. He will take advantage of this working alone to fuel our pride, our anxiety, and our tensions we have in relationships. The enemy wants you to fail, but the Lord wants to see you succeed. Find those who are wise in the Lord and have demonstrated already a love for you in this life. Drop the pride in thinking you can do this alone, bring their eyes and experience into your planning, and see the Lord’s blessings on your plans when you handle them in the way He told you to. I love you, but Jesus loves you more – Mac – Daily DEVO 2923
